Meet Our Founder

Laura Frater is a Scottish investigative journalist, podcast producer and writer with more than a decade of experience creating content across audio, video, print and social media. She has worked across true crime, investigative journalism, lifestyle, finance, business and breaking news.

Her podcasting career includes producing and reporting for some of the biggest shows in the country, including Crime Junkie and The Deck. She is the creator of The Vanishing Point, a limited-series podcast downloaded more than 2.8 million times in its first 10 weeks, which reached No. 8 on Apple's True Crime chart and was nominated for Best True Crime Podcast at the 2024 Ambies.

Laura holds an MFA in Creative Writing and has taught literature at Iona College and UC Davis.

She created Creative Juice to give independent podcasters access to the kind of creative support usually reserved for shows with big production teams. CJ’s mission is not only to foster podcasting talent, but to build a community for creators.

Born and raised in Glasgow, Laura has lived and worked in London, Melbourne, Sydney and the Bay Area. She currently resides in New York City with her husband and son.
